The Synapps screening and recruitment process is designed to submit a minimum number of well-suited candidates for each role. Our policy is always quality not quantity.
Below is a brief explanation of our recruitment process.
Requirement Qualification
Having a thorough understanding of the role and the organisation is vital to being able to match the best skilled and most suited candidate to the role. This includes eligibility to work in the required location.
Candidate Acquisition
Whether from our database, a referral/recommendation or from an internet search or advert if the candidate is not suited to the role they are informed via email or automated response. Only those who match the initial criteria will advance to the screening process.
Screen CV
After the initial pass a detailed review of the CV is undertaken, reviewing both technical and soft skills. Organisations worked for, projects or appointments undertaken, qualifications and training.
Synapps Interview
Next we will conduct an interview with candidates we feel have a suitable CV or warrant further investigation. This is usually conducted by phone, although we will also meet candidates if logistics and time allow. We will discuss the candidate’s situation, why they are looking to leave a current position etc, ask competency based questions relevant to the particular role. Whilst being useful in their own right competency based questions also ensure the candidates do a lot of the talking allowing us to vet communication skills and gain a feel for potential cultural fit.
At this stage, so long as we have the client’s permission, we will make a candidate aware of whom the client is and discuss background information about the client and the actual role. We feel this will help to reduce the number of duplicate applicants our clients receive. We also send the candidate details of the role, full job spec, client background details etc.
Submission
Once approval has been gained and we are satisfied we will submit the CV and Submission form to the client. We would like to stress that we never forward a candidates CV without their permission or conducting an interview.
Client Interview
Synapps will act as the intermediary to ensure the candidate is informed of the location, background info, role description. We also like to promote two way interview feedback between client and candidate.
Offer
Candidate offers are communicated as quickly and effectively as possible. Ensuring as much detail is passed on to candidate and client. Start dates agreed and confirmation issued. We also obtain references from candidates at this point and forward to our client - saving time.
Aftercare
Once a contractor or permanent candidate has been placed we maintain regular contact to ensure they are settling in ok and any teething problems can be ironed out. As a nice gesture we always try to send new starters a greetings email to their new work email account on the day they start. Unfortunately this is dependent on their email account being up and running though! This will be followed by regular telephone conversations.
General
We communicate with our candidates throughout the process and try to be as accurate as possible with regard to timelines and making them fully aware of any response (positive and/or negative) we receive on their initial application and interview feedback.
