Unix Administrator / Unix Engineer - SYN5987

They are currently recruiting for a Unix Administrator / UNIX Engineer to undertake UNIX infrastructure support and administration. This role requires excellent skills in UNIX technologies (preferably HP-UX) including problem solving and new implementation. The job will involve: ¿ Support and administration of UNIX server infrastructures capable of supporting logistics systems for the Armed Forces. ¿ Assist with the planning and delivery of technical tasks as assigned by the Project Manager and/or Team Leader. ¿ Create and deliver support and installation documentation. ¿ Perform technical and application compatibility tests to ascertain the level of integration and supportability ¿ Perform application integration support ¿ Occasional site visits for implementation and support. ¿ Interface with project groups regarding production problems and technical concerns. The essential skills are: ¿ HP-UX System Administration, Support and Software Integration ¿ Experience in script writing ¿ Experience of UNIX server and SAN hardware build. ¿ Experience in incident resolution ¿ Strong skills in verbal and written communication including the writing and reviewing of documentation ¿ Ability to work as part of a team ¿ Flexible and hardworking
