Oracle Developer - SYN6032

  • The Developer will work as an integral part of a development team, and will specialise in one or more programming languages and/or development environments. Tasks will cover new development, maintenance and support. A Developer may work on multiple systems or projects, but within a single development team under the control of a single Capability Manager. Job Description: Development of new customer requirements ¿ these currently include several Major system enhancements. The duties and responsibilities of a Developer include, but are not limited to: ¿ Carry out the tasks assigned by the Bid Manager, PM, ASDM or Team Lead, reporting any slippage or other issues in a timely manner. ¿ Provide technical input to bids and proposals and assist in task estimating, as requested by the Bid Manager. ¿ Gain an appreciation and understanding of the hardware, operating system and application software capabilities and constraints of supported systems. ¿ Support the existing Application. ¿ Adhere to the relevant development standards and guidelines. ¿ Carry out unit testing of program deliverables. ¿ Carry out peer reviews of program units produced by other members of the development team. ¿ Liaise with and assist Testers so that they can gain the necessary understanding of system behaviour to enable efficient and effective independent testing to be carried out. ¿ Assist Testers in the preparation of test data and in the set up of test environments. ¿ Attend project technical meetings and meetings with the customer, as requested by the Bid Manager, PM, ASDM or Team Lead. ¿ Advise the relevant ASDM of any technical support issues. Essential Skills: Demonstrably proficient in: SQL, PL/SQL, forms and Reports 6i/9i Development, Minimum 2 years Oracle Development experience Minimum 1 year Oracle 8i/9i, Oracle Discoverer (Admin & User) would be an advantage Proficient UNIX (H
