  • Desktop Support Engineer ¿ Early Start We need a highly skilled, customer focused desktop support engineer to join our team of 15 supporting approximately 4000 customers spread over 200 sites. Working in and around Islington, London. 35 hours per week. While we are open from 8am to 9pm we expect the successful candidate to reliably start at 8am. Between 8am and 9am they will deal with all incoming faults, providing a rapid response and remote fix to our early starters, escalating any issues they are unable to quickly resolve. Between 9am and 4pm they will primarily support staff working from home, again providing a rapid response and remote fix for staff who otherwise would be unable to work. Engineers have a great deal of autonomy in managing their fault calls and their relationships with customers within a structured framework of customer care standards and SLA¿s. Each engineer has an area of defined responsibility, but we expect them to work as a team, volunteering and asking for help from the team as and when required. We have established a team of high-calibre individuals, who are both technically skilled and user friendly, and we are looking for a candidate who stands out from the crowd to join us. Our ideal candidate is likely to: ¿ Engage with customers and colleagues in a way that fosters mutual trust, cooperation and understanding ¿ Care as much about the customer as the technology ¿ Be memorable so the customers know who they are dealing with (it¿s not a good sign when customers can¿t remember who fixed their problem an hour ago) ¿ Integrate quickly into new environments ¿ Share their positive experiences Experience ¿ Working in a large organisation, not necessarily a Council or even a public body ¿ Working as part of a support team of at least five people ¿ Supporting customers over the phone, using remote tools and face to face ¿ Windows NT, 2000, XP
